Runway Gen:48 – A two day short film competition. September 14th to 16th, 2024. Gen:48 is a short film competition where teams of 1-3 filmmakers have 48 hours to conceptualize and produce a film ranging from 1 to 4 minutes in length. The third edition of the competition will run from 9 AM on September 14th to 9 AM on September 16th (EST).
Gen:48 is entirely remote, inviting filmmakers from around the world to join in.
Rules & Recognition
The theme and creative guidelines for all films will be disclosed at the beginning of the competition.
Remote Production
The event is entirely remote, allowing teams to participate from anywhere in the world. To support collaboration, teams will have access to dedicated Gen:48 channels on the Runway Discord server.
Resources
Participating teams will receive 300,000 Runway credits to assist in generating their films on the Runway platform. In addition, all teams will have access to SFX resources and more.
Grand Prix and People’s Choice
Once submissions are closed, all finalist films will be featured on the Gen:48 website for public voting. The film with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice award. Additionally, a selected jury will determine the Grand Prix award.
Recognition and Prizing
The winners of the Grand Prix and People’s Choice awards will each receive $5,000 USD and 1,000,000 Runway credits. All winning filmmakers will also be invited to join the Creative Partners Program.
